SPRUCE PINE N.C.—Mike David Hughes, age 67, of Spruce Pine, died Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Brian Center of Spruce Pine. Born on August 8, 1953 in Trenton, MI, he was the son of the late Alfred and Faye Greene Hughes.

Theresa Jane Anderson

CELO N.C.—Theresa Jane Anderson, born October 4, 1952 in Camden NJ, passed away on September 14th, 2020 of end-stage breast cancer.  Her death was peaceful, and, as in her life, she was surrounded by people she loved.

BAKERSVILLE N.C. —Ruby Garland Birchfield, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14th, 2020.  A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late Merritt and Melissa Tuskie Gardner Gar-land.

MOCKSVILLE N.C. – Mrs. Evelyn “Sally” Fay Transou Golliher, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 13, 2020, at the age of 91.  Born to Mont and Ina Martin Transou of Elkin, Sally had four older brothers, Jim, Walter, Ro-land and Ray.

SPRUCE PINE N.C.—Tommy Styles age 72 passed away on Sept 3rd at the John Keever Sol-ace Center in Asheville, N.C. after a short battle with lung cancer.

Michael Certik Culhane

EVANSTON, IL—Michael Certik Culhane passed away while sharing her glorious laugh on 15 January 2018.  After retiring from Northwestern University at 50, she built her little, blue, round house by the beach in St. Joe Beach, FL where she lived many quite happy days until her last.

CHARLOTTE - Dorothy Greene Buchanan, age 87, of Ranch Rd., Charlotte, NC went home to be with the Lord September 1, 2020. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Earl and Estella Buchanan Greene. Dorothy was retired as a supervisor with Lundy Electronic.
