SPRUCE PINE N.C.—Mike David Hughes, age 67, of Spruce Pine, died Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Brian Center of Spruce Pine.
Born on August 8, 1953 in Trenton, MI, he was the son of the late Alfred and Faye Greene Hughes. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Steve Hughes and many aunts and uncles.
Mike worked in lawn maintenance for many years until his health prevented him from working. He loved to joke and cut up with people. He loved to write letters and cards and especially liked to receive them.
Left to cherish his memories are his uncle; Robert Greene of Ellenboro, an aunt; Addie Mae Greene of Morganton, cousins; Tim Boone, David Boone and Cindy Ponder all of Bakersville, Carole Brooks of Ellenboro, Ann Brandle of Bostic, Janice Stone of Morganton, Matt Greene of Marion and William Greene of Bostic.

A Memorial service was held at 1:00pm, Saturday September 26, 2020 at the chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine with Rev. Daniel Whetstine officiating.
