CHARLOTTE - Dorothy Greene Buchanan, age 87, of Ranch Rd., Charlotte, NC went home to be with the Lord September 1, 2020. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Earl and Estella Buchanan Greene.
Dorothy was retired as a supervisor with Lundy Electronic. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. She was a graduate of Central Piedmont College. Dorothy enjoyed her trips to Bakersville, she loved her family, grandchildren, friends, and her pet cat, Tip. Her favorite hobby was riding her 4-wheeler.
Survivors include: her husband; James Ernest Buchanan, daughters; Beverly Thomas (Andy), of Charlotte, NC, and Pamela Wallace (Pete), of Newnam, GA, four grandchildren; Lisa Staten, Tina Jones, Jennifer Merrill, and Matthew Wallace, four great grandchildren; Melissa Harris, Robbie Joiner, Heather Johnson, and Brandon Johnson, three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by one sister Zola L. Young, and two brothers: Woodrow and Joe Greene.
A private family service will be held in Bakersville, NC with Larry Greene officiating.
