SPRUCE PINE, N.C.— Barbara Arnold Day, age 88, of Spruce Pine, N.C., was called to Heaven on November 7, 2020.  A native of Raleigh, N.C., she was born March 12, 1932. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Fadine P. Arnold and Broddie D.

BAKERSVILLE NC—Nellie Phillips Cole, 89 of Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 12, 2020. Nellie was born February 21, 1931 in Yancey County, NC, lived in Erwin, TN and moved (with her husband of 68 years) to Mitchell County in the early 1950’s.

SHREVEPORT LA— George Duncan passed away on November 4,2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Born September 26, 1933 in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. He was survived by Martha Duncan, spouse; two sons, George Duncan, Jr. (Ellen) and Dr.

Carol Woodard

Carol Woodard, age 75, died peacefully at home on October 23, 2020.  She had been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in March 2019.

SPRUCE PINE—Kathie Ann Riddle, age 66, of Deer Park Lake Road in Spruce Pine, dear sister, cousin, and friend passed into the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ on October 28th, 2020 at her home.

MORGANTON NC—Mr. Kenneth Ray Buchanan, 77, of Morganton, passed away on Sunday October 25, 2020 at his residence after a period of declining health. Mr. Buchanan was born February 18, 1943 in Mitchell County, a son of the late Guy and Grace Ledford Buchanan.

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C.—Ted Ray Jones, 83, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on October 18, 2020 at Cleveland Pines in Shelby, NC.   Born in Mitchell County, NC, he was the son of the late Dave Jones and Vaughtie Johnson Jones.

MARION, N.C.—Dr. Jennings Bryant passed peacefully surrounded by family on October 14th, 2020 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He was 76 years old.
