McKinney gets another offer to play college football

LEDGER – Mitchell High School senior standout wide receiver and kick returner Tyler McKinney has picked up his third offer to play college football. McKinney announced Monday, Dec. 2, on his Twitter account he had received an offer from the Brevard College Tornadoes.

MITCHELL DISMANTLES POLK

LEDGER – Mitchell High School’s varsity football team is moving on to the next round of the 1AA state playoffs.  The No. 2-seeded Mountaineers (11-1) rolled to a 28-0 win over visiting No.7-seeded Polk County (9-4) Friday, Nov. 22, in their playoff opener after enjoying a first-round bye.

What? Are you kidding me? Did you go to the Mitchell-Polk game Friday night? The Mountaineers shut out Polk for the second time this season. So, what does that tell us coming out of the game Friday night with the Mountaineers winning 28-0? All are great questions.

The 2019 playoffs are here. So far, it has been an outstanding year for Mitchell Mountaineer football and the team has done some great things.  The offense has been imposing, possibly turning in a record-setting year.

The Mitchell Mountaineers came home Friday night for senior night and their final regular-season game of 2019.  There were major concerns about how the Mountaineer defense would defend an Avery offense that has been very productive throughout the year.
