BAKERSVILLE, N.C. —Edwin Leon Rolen, age 87, of Bakersville, NC passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at his home. A native of Bakersville, he was the son of the late Edwin Thomas Rolen and Nina Wilson Rolen. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nellie Poole Rolen.

SPRUCE PINE, N.C. — Carl Baker, age 96, of Amethyst Street in Spruce Pine, passed away, Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine. Born on July 17, 1925, in Clay County, KY, he was the son of the late John and Lillie Hornsby Baker.

BAKERSVILLE, N.C. — Stephen Parker Boyd, age 78, died at his home, surrounded by his family, on January 19th, 2022. A native of Mitchell County, he was the son of the late John E. Boyd and Ruth Parker Boyd. He was preceded in death by his brother, John E. Boyd, Jr (Judy).

BAKERSVILLE, N.C. —Tina Hopson Peterson, age 56, of the Fork Mountain Community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 11th, 2021, at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.  A native of Unicoi, TN, she was a daughter of Brenda Mathis Hopson and the late Carl Hopson.
