Annual moon journal project goes virtual

The moon journal project, which has been a staple of the third-grade curriculum in Mitchell County for 20 years, went virtual this year.

BRRH donates Stop the Bleed kits to MCS

LEDGER — Mitchell County Schools are now more prepared for the worst case scenario of a school shooting.  On Monday, Nov. 30, Blue Ridge Regional Hospital donated 180 Stop The Bleed kits to the school system.

MCS improves cybersecurity amid pandemic

LEDGER — With school systems across the state and nation relying more heavily on technology during the ongoing pandemic, cybersecurity is taking on increased importance.  At the onset of the pandemic this past March, Mitchell County Schools was subject to a ransomware cyberattack.
