JV Mountaineers make history

A busy week for Mountaineer football ended Friday in Burnsville as the Mitchell Mountaineer varsity football team came up short in their bid to defeat Mtn. Heritage for the fourth consecutive meeting between these two rival schools.

McIntosh in as varsity girls coach

It’s the dawn of a new era for Mitchell High varsity girls’ basketball.  Avery County native Hannah McIntosh is the team’s next head coach, the school announced this past week.

PERFECTION

The Harris boys’ basketball team is the undefeated champion of the Western Highlands Middle School Conference. The Blue Devils (19-0) wrapped up their undefeated season with a 40-37 come-from-behind win over Cane River in the conference championship.
