GIRLS' SOCCER: Mitchell opens season with 3-2 victory over West Wilkes

LEDGER – The Mitchell High School Lady Mountaineers soccer team opened its season Wednesday, March 4, with a 3-2 win over visiting West Wilkes. 

Mitchell Freshman Olivia Kadans scored a pair of goals for the Lady Mountaineers and sophomore Savanah McMahan added one to give the home team the 3-2 win. 

Sophomore goalie Peighton Robison recorded two saves in addition to a penalty kick save for the Lady Mountaineers. 

Mitchell (1-0) returns to the field at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in Ledger against non-conference opponent Ashe County High School.
