BAKERSVILLE — Blueberry Heaven is ready for business again.

Blueberry Heaven, a self-service blueberry farm located at 1845 Blevins Branch Road in Bakersville, had to wait longer than usual to open, but on Monday, July 13, visitors flocked to the business as it officially opened for the season.

A lack of sun caused this year’s berries to ripen later than usual.

Visitors to Blueberry Heaven can pay $13 for a five-quart bucket. Then, they can wander the grounds and fill up their bucket with fresh blueberries.

The staff at Blueberry Heaven is taking precautions to guard against COVID-19 by sanitizing buckets with Clorox after each use.

Blueberry Heaven is not open every day and is never open on Sundays. They regularly post updated opening times on their Facebook page.

The blueberry season runs through early August.
