BAKERSVILLE — A pair of Greensboro men were arrested and charged in connection with the Saturday, May 8 break-in of Roan Mountain Pharmacy in Bakersville.
Dilion Janquan McCain, 18, and Keyshawn Ramiro Keaton, 18, were arrested after being directly linked to the burglary. McCain is charged with the breaking and entering of a pharmacy and damage to real property and is being held on $77,500 bond while Keaton is charged with aiding and abetting the breaking and entering of a pharmacy and is being held on $75,000 bond.
On May 8, Mitchell County Sheriff’s Deputies Taylor Silvers, Benjamin Hollifield and Nick Bowman responded to an alarm at the pharmacy. Upon arrival, they found the front door smashed in.
While coming from the Minpro area, Bowman saw a sedan traveling at high speed toward Spruce Pine on NC 226 S. Bowman turned to follow the vehicle and shortly after, he found the vehicle crashed into a guardrail at the intersection of Penland Road and NC 226 S.
Bowman observed two males running away from the vehicle. With the aid of the Spruce Pine Police Department, the two men were taken into custody.
Video surveillance footage from Roan Mountain Pharmacy and other evidence recovered at the scene, in the vehicle and on the men linked the pair to the burglary.
