The Mitchell County Board of Commissioners held a brief meeting last week to conduct routine administrative business.
Commissioner Steve Pitman made a motion to appoint Patti Jensen of the Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce to the Mitchell County Economic Development Commission Board of Directors.
Pitman also nominated Morgan Buchanan as an advisory member of the EDC board. Jensen and Buchanan’s nominations were approved unanimously.
The board also approved a schedule for Mitchell County Department of Social Services board meetings in 2026 and held a closed session to consult with the county’s attorney, Four Eggers.
Meeting canceled
The Mitchell County Board of Education also had a meeting scheduled for last week. However, that meeting was canceled.
