Mitchell County has an online form for reporting debris piles that may have been overlooked.
Mitchell County Manager Allen Cook said that a number of county residents have expressed concern that there is roadside debris from Hurricane Helene (downgraded to a tropical storm after slowing down over land) that should have been picked up during previous debris collection initiatives but was somehow forgotten.
To make sure no storm debris goes uncollected, the county is asking residents to report debris left behind in a special online form.
The form can be accessed at this web address: https://www.mitchellcountync.gov/debris-reporting-page/
The form asks for a name, email address, contact phone number, and a location of the debris in question.
There is also an option to describe the problem, and also to upload photos if you have them.
