The Bakersville Little Free Library recently received a fresh coat of paint from its founder and steward, Roby Summerfield.

Established in 2019, the Little Free Library focuses on books about kindness and compassion. The collection includes books on the empowerment of women and girls, justice for differently-abled communities and environmental awareness and advocacy.

The library operates on a checkout and return system which serves the local community and tourists visiting the area. It’s located on the Bakersville Creek Walk next to the Fire Department.
