Wrestlers rack up at Beach Nationals

Western Carolina Wrestling Club turned two weeks of beach wrestling practice into a strong showing at this year’s 2025 USA Beach Wrestling National Championships, held recently in Carolina Beach.

More than 300 wrestlers from thirty different states took part in this year’s event. Twelve wrestlers of all age groups made the trek to the coast to represent Western North Carolina, and they came away with club runner-up honors for the second year in a row.

Several local wrestlers also competed in the USA World Team Qualification process and earned invitations to represent Team USA at the 2025 UWW World Beach Wrestling Championships scheduled for this fall in Greece.

Award winners for Western Carolina Wrestling (WCW) were as follows:

1st Place National Champions- Jayceemae Erwin 14U Girls, Jaylen “Rain” Erwin 10U Girls.

2nd Place -Kylie Geouge 14U Girls, Jaysin Erwin Jr. Men, Yeshua Guardian Jr. Men

3rd Place- Katie Stowe 16U Girls, Clayton Geouge Jr. Men, Angel Castanada U20 Men (World Team Qualifier)

4th Place- Ethan Harringer 16U Men, Parker Geouge 10U Boys, Brett MCClean 16U Men, Jayko Erwin 12U Boys, Clayton Geouge U20 Men, Madon Davis 12U Boys.
