LEDGER – A pair of Mitchell High School juniors were recognized recently as All-District players by the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association.
Junior Caius Peterson was named to the District 12 boys’ third team and junior Paige Johnson was named to the District 12 girls’ third team.
Peterson averaged 12.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game as a junior this past season for coach Chad Dellinger’s Mountaineers and Johnson averaged 10.8 points and five rebounds for coach Zack McCartha’s Lady Mountaineers.
Peterson also earned Western Highland Conference All-Conference honors along with teammates Tyler McKinney and Zeus Ponder, who are both seniors. Johnson was also named All-Western Highlands Conference as were teammates Jill Pittman and Marley Cloer, both juniors, and senior Hannah McMahan.
