The Mitchell High Golf team has been on a hot streak as of late, dominating the conference by winning all 7 conference matches they’ve played. They’ve also been showing their skill in non-conference contests as well.
On April 16, the Mountaineers competed in the 16th North Carolina High School Invitational at Treyburn Country Club in Raleigh. With the team being generously sponsored by Derek Buchanan, the owner of Grassy Creek, the Mountaineers were able to compete against larger schools and were the only 1A public school team there.
Mitchell competed well, on a foreign course against higher-tier talent, and finished 16th. Connor Warren shot 2 over for the day which tied him for 23rd, while Bryce Miller finished the day at 5 over.
