It’s been a hard two weeks for Mitchell High baseball as they lost their third game in a row on Tuesday, April 2, dropping the Mountaineers to 4-7 on the season. The Maiden Blue Devils jumped out early with four runs in the first inning, and defeated Mitchell 12-2. This makes the second game in a row that Mitchell lost by 10 runs.

Mitchell’s losing streak has been plagued by an inability to hit the ball, with the Mountaineers only garnering six hits and 2 runs over the past 3 games. This is in stark contrast to the previous eight games where Mitchell had scored 61 runs, including a 31-0 destruction of Cloudland. Next up for the Mountaineers is a home game against Patton, and then the conference schedule picks back up with a game at Draughn Wednesday night.
