The Mountaineers men’s golf team has had an amazing season in the WHC conference, winning the regular season conference title by a cumulative 187 strokes lead over 9 matches.
The team’s success was most recently highlighted by their impressive victory at the one-day conference tournament at Mountain Glen, where they won by a massive 40 strokes, scoring an incredibly low team total of 307.
The Mountaineers secured four out of the top five individual scores, highlighting their exceptional team performance. Individual success was also abundant for the Mountaineers, with Connor Warren being named the WHC player of the year. He also claimed the conference tournament championship by winning with a score of 70, finishing three strokes ahead of his closest competitor.
Brody and Bryce Miller were also named to the WHC all-conference team, each finishing with the fourth and fifth-best stroke averages of all conference players, respectively. Additionally, Connor, Brody, Bryce, and Maddox Dale were all named to the all-tournament team due to their impressive play at the conference tournament.
The Mountaineers are now looking ahead to the Western 1A regionals, where they defended their title at the Mountain Harbour golf course in Hayesville, on Monday, May 6.
The team is looking to continue their winning ways and maintain their impressive form as they move on to the next stage of competition.
