The Bowman Lady Bulldogs have clinched the conference championship after defeating the Harris Lady Blue Devils 26 - 22 at home on Thursday night.
It’s been almost a decade since the Lady Bulldogs won a conference championship at home, making this victory an incredibly special moment for the team and their fans.
The game started with the Lady Bulldogs taking an early lead of 12-3 and maintaining their dominance throughout the first half, leading 16-7. However, in the third quarter, the Lady Blue Devils made a comeback, closing the gap to 18-14.
The Lady Bulldogs were not to be deterred, going on a 7-0 run to end the quarter. Despite a valiant effort by Harris in the fourth quarter, going on an 8-1 run, they fell just short of victory.
Bowman Head Coach Brittany McKinney expressed her excitement after the game, but also stated that they take things “One game at a time”.
Bowman will now be looking ahead to their upcoming first-round home playoff game.
