CHARLOTTE — Keiko “Kay” Clarke, age 82, of Charlotte, NC, died Sunday, July 26, 2020 in Spruce Pine after a long term chronic illness.

SPRUCE PINE — Ronald Emory ‘Ronnie’ McKinney, age 66, of George McKinney Circle in Spruce Pine died Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the University of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel Hill.

SPRUCE PINE- “Come to the mountains!” was the invitation John Wellborn issued to anyone he happened to meet in the flatlands.

SPRUCE PINE- Ricky McKinney, age 66, of Summit Avenue in Spruce Pine, died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.

BAKERSVILLE - Henry Bruce “Pidge” Norman, 79, of the Snow Creek Community, Bakersville, NC, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

BAKERSVILLE – Phil Kenneth Tipton, formerly of Bee Branch Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord July 7, 2020.

Agnes Ann Pieper died on July 9, 2020 at the age of 95 in Durham, NC. She was born in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.  After the death of her father, Agnes’s mother moved to Miami, Fla.

SPRUCE PINE – Maude Self Hughes, age 81, of Old Laurel Way in Spruce Pine, the Little Switzerland community, went to be with  her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 9, 2020.  

ALTAPASS – Charles Edward Silver, 92, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Mission Hospital.
