BAKERSVILLE, N.C.— Sandra Lee Sun Smith, age 84, Buladean, NC passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She is a daughter of the late Gustave and Dorothy Himmelein Sun. Sandra grew up on Kelleys Island, Ohio. Then she moved to Tennessee in 1998 and has lived in Buladean for the last seven years.
Sandra was a Christian and attended Centenary United Methodist Church in Erwin. She was a retired LPN. Sandra was an avid gardener, wonderful cook. She was a happy individual and loved the mountains of North Carolina.
Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of twenty years, R.O. Smith; one son, Daniel Evans of Cleveland, OH; one daughter, Kerry Evans of Ashville, NC; two granddaughters: Shannon Leeann Calhoun and Amanda Mary Calhoun both of Elizabethton; one great granddaughter, Teana Leeann Shae Colston; one brother, Gustav Terrand Sun, III of Kannapolis, NC; her pets, Howie, Lilly and Cricket.
Graveside service will be held at Kelleys Island Cemetery at a later date.
