SPRUCE PINE, N.C.—Roy Alton Jones spent most of the first half of his life in Punta Gorda, Florida as a fisherman.
In retirement he was “a stranger to none” at home in Spruce Pine, NC. Recognized by his hats, cowboy boots, and gold necklace; Roy spent his days at Mitchell County Senior Center, afternoons on his grand porch overlooking upper street in Spruce Pine and weekends visiting with friends at Hef’s or dancing the night away at the Dispensary. Roy spent his last days cared for at home by his son and grandson. A charming southern gentleman with an eye for the ladies, Roy will be missed by all.
