BURNSVILLE, N.C.— Ernest Cain, age 70, of Pensacola Road in Burnsville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine. 

Born on June 3, 1950 in Olympia, WA, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Newberry Cain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Chris Cain. 

Ernest was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was an 18-wheeler OTR truck driver most of his life. He drove 48 states and Canada and was known by the handle of “Grizzly” on the CB. He loved people and enjoyed being around family and friends. He also loved animals, football, and was a huge fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. 

Left to cherish his memories are his sister; Christina Cain of Raleigh, NC, and his longtime friend of forty years; Jeanne Harding of Spruce Pine. 

In keeping with the wishes of Ernest, no services are planned at this time.
