BAKERSVILLE N.C.-Elenore McKinney Buchanan, age 91, of Green Young Cemetery Rd, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord August 15, 2020. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Herman and Dollie Bowman McKinney. She was retired as a LPN at Spruce Pine Hospital.
Elenore was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church. She loved her family and loved being a caregiver for the com-munity. She also loved her pets, gardening, flowers, collecting rocks, and music.
Survivors include: four chil-dren; Sharon Garden (Charles), of Morganton, NC, Caroline Honeycutt (Tim), Denny Bu-chanan (Louise), and David Bu-chanan, all of Bakersville, NC, two sisters; Betty Farris, of Southern Pines, NC, and Cathy Faulk, of Spruce Pine, NC, four brothers; Roger, Jim, Roy Lee, and Michael McKinney, all of Bakersville, NC, seven grand-children; Chris Buchanan, Man-di Buchanan, Jason Garden, Christi Buchanan, Lukas Hon-eycutt, Malachi Honeycutt, and Haley Honeycutt, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: her husband Phillip Morris Buchan-an, her son Phillip Allen Bu-chanan, and one sister Josie McMahan.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 5:00 P.M. in Roan Mountain Baptist Church with Russell McKinney, and Mark McKinney officiating. Interment will fol-low the service at Green Young Cemetery.
