GRASSY CREEK – Claudia y Los 4 Mariachis is getting a new home. The Mexican restaurant is moving to 12145 Highway 226, the former location of Boonie’s Pizza Company, in the Spruce Pine Commons Shopping Center.

Carpenter, Wiseman receive scholarships

Mitchell County Retired School Personnel has awarded two scholarships to local seniors.  Emma Carpenter was awarded the Lloyd and Mildred Bryson Scholarship, which is given to a student who plans to become a teacher, in the amount of $1,500.
