Hale named CEO of Blue Ridge Regional

SPRUCE PINE – After Blue Ridge Regional Hospital CEO Becky Carter announced she is leaving the hospital in the near future, Mission Health announced Tonia W. Hale, DNP, MAOM, BSN, RN, is replacing her effective Dec. 16.

Hale has more than 32 years of progressive healthcare experience in healthcare operations, service line growth and development, regulatory compliance, quality improvement and patient experience. Hale more recently held the position of chief nursing officer of Tennova Newport Medical Center in Newport, Tennessee. During her time with TNMC, she also served as nursing home – administrator-in-training for TNMC’s 56-bed nursing home.

As CNO of Tennova Newport Medical Center, Hale was responsible for hospital operations – nursing home, med/surg, CCU, ER, OB, surgery, nursery, laboratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, respiratory, education, infection control, employee health, workmen’s compensation, EMS liaison, clinical informatics and physician clinics. 

Hale has a DNP from East Tennessee State University, MAOM from Tusculum College, BSN from University of Tennessee and an ADN from Walters State Community College.
