aturday, April 27, in Spruce Pine, for a unique celebration of blacksmithing artistry at the annual festival organized by Spruce Pine Main Street, Penland School of Craft, Toe River Arts, Haywood Community College, Arthur Morgan School, and local smiths. Each year, Fire on the Mountain grows in popularity, offering a range of activities perfect for families and individuals.
Throughout the day enjoy blacksmithing demonstrations but a youth forge-on challenge demonstration, adult forge-off competition, hands-on tent, vendor booths and great food. A main attraction will be forging demonstrations by the 2024 Featured Artist Pete Braspenninx. Other artist demonstrations include Anna Koplik, Cole Aurichio, Will Manning, Seth Gould, and Claire Ashby.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the first demonstration beginning at 10 a.m.
