The clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, and a timeless tradition is reignited: the creation of New Year’s resolutions. Originating over 4,000 years ago in ancient Babylonia, this practice has evolved through the ages and is as popular as ever in 2024. In ancient times, fulfilling promises from the previous year was believed to be granted good fortune. Today, while the superstitions have faded, the spirit of self-improvement and aspiration thrives.
Our resolutions are more than just a list of goals; they are a testament to our belief in the power of change and personal growth.
In the heart of Mitchell County, the youth are active participants in this tradition, eager to make their mark in the new year. Four students from Mitchell High School have stepped forward to share their resolutions. Through their aspirations, we see the future – a future that is bright, determined, and ever-evolving.
All of these goals are super attainable for the youth in our community and for anyone else who wants to make 2024 the best year yet!
