Charismatic Cat is becoming a legend
Amidst the vibrant colors of Lakeview Nursery, lives a cat of legend—City Kitty. His journey from a wanderer to a beloved town mascot is a story of community love and a bit of feline mischief.
City Kitty, aptly named for his origins at the City Drive In, has been a familiar sight in our community for years. He spent his day lounging on tables and knocking over boxes until one day, he got into a scuffle with a dog. City Kitty was just fine, although the same could not be said for the dog.
The encounter prompted his move to a more serene location, Lakeview Nursery. “We still have to lock him in the bathroom to keep him from attacking dogs,” staff said. Today he greets customers with a nuzzle, lounging lazily amidst the flora.
In a fitting tribute to City Kitty’s indelible mark on our community, a vibrant mosaic now adorns City Drive In. Created by Emma Cadman, this piece of art was recently installed, immortalizing City Kitty’s spirited demeanor and his undeniable role as a symbol of community unity and love.
As he continues to greet customers, lounge in his beloved greenhouse, and inspire art, City Kitty stands as a reminder of the enduring bond between humans and their feline friends—a legend indeed, in his own right.
