Mitchell County residents will have an opportunity to comment on the county’s proposed 2024-25 fiscal budget on Monday, June 3. The board of county commissioners will hear comments from the public relating to the proposed budget at 6:30 p.m. in the County Administration Building, 26 Crimson Laurel Way, Bakersville.
Commissioners must vote to adopt the budget before June 30. A copy of the budget is available for review at the County Administration Building during normal business hours.
Spruce Pine budget
The proposed 2024-2025 budget for the Town of Spruce Pine has been presented to the Town Council and is available for public inspection in the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. There will be a public hearing on the proposed budget at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, June 10, at Spruce Pine Town Hall, 11050 S. 226 Hwy, Spruce Pine. Residents of Spruce Pine may make oral or written comments at this time.

The Spruce Pine ABC Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 3 at 4:30 p.m. at the ABC Store to hear comments regarding their 2024-25 budget. A copy of the budget is available for review at their office, 12344 Hwy 226S, Spruce Pine, during regular business hours.
