OBITUARY: Robert ‘Robin’ Parker

Robert “Robin” Parker, 60, of the Crabtree Community, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 17, 2020, after a brief illness. 

A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late John “J.C.” Parker and Alma Hoilman Parker Pate. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Sammy Lou Parker; and a brother, Rocky Parker. 

Robin worked for more than 42 years at Baxter. He loved fishing, hunting, watching westerns, Andy Griffith and all the older, classic shows on TV.  

Surviving is his stepfather, Reece Pate, of Crabtree; loving wife of 20 years, Diana Parker; daughter, Holly Parker (Josh Roberts), of Bakersville; son, Clay Parker (Lucia), of South Toe; stepdaughter, Nikki Bates (Brandon Lowery), of North Cove; grandchildren, Kaedence Roberts, Charlotte Roberts, Hayden Parker, Grayson Parker and Devon Frady; sister, Alfreda Hughes (Mark), of Bakersville; and a niece, Melinda Parker, of Charlotte.

A graveside service was 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2020, in the Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Silvers officiated.
