KIVO REPORTING FOR DUTY: Mitchell’s newest K-9 officer settles into his role

SPRUCE PINE — One of the newest hires at the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department is not your typical employee. Kivo, the new K-9 Unit dog, joined the force this past June and he’s now starting to settle into the job.

Investigators seek information on pair of breaking and entering cases

BAD CREEK — The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office is searching for any additional information that may link two separate breaking and entering cases that happened in the span of 24 hours late this past month.  A breaking and entering was reported at the Red Hill store just before 9 p.m.
