BULADEAN, N.C. — Ronald Hill, age 74, of Buladean, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 10th, 2022, in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Frank and Darlie Street Hill.
He was also preceded in death by brothers: Junior Hill and his wife, Faye, Robert Hill and his wife, Georgia, JC Hill and Ed Hill. Ronald was a US Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member and Deacon for many years at St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church. Ronald loved restoring old trucks, was an avid gardener but will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandpa.
Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Connie Geraldine Hill; daughters: Tina Buchanan and husband, Chad, of Bakersville and Teresa Peterson and husband, Johnny, of Burnsville; grandchildren: Morgan Buchanan and fiancé, Zach Richardson, of Marion, Tyler Buchanan of Bakersville, Tanner Buchanan of Bakersville, Bridgett Peterson of Burnsville and Brooke Cooper and husband, Jordan, of Burnsville; great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Owen Cooper; brother-in-law, David Caughron and wife, Patricia, of Buladean; sisters-in-law: Theresa Hill of Jonesboro, TN, Nora Lee Hill of Buladean, Pat Gentry of Buladean and Becky Gardner of Columbia, SC; two nephews: Howard Hill of Buladean and Charlie Hill of Spruce Pine . Several other extended family members along with special friends: Mike Hodge of Buladean and Barbara Buchanan of Bakersville also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 14th in St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church. Pastor Gordon Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow in the Garland-Blevins Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Sgt. E. L. Randolph Chapter #57 D.A.V.
