The Miss Emerald Ridge delegates heading to the state competition pose together recently.
The Miss Emerald Ridge Scholarship Program will send three delegates to compete in the Miss North Carolina and North Carolina’s Teen competition in High Point June 21-24 with three local young ladies accompanying them to participate in the Carolina Princess mentoring program.
Alyssa Hemphill of Marion is the current Miss Mineral City. She and Dallas Seagle, Miss Emerald Ridge Teen of Kings Mountain, will travel to High Point for the North Carolina Teen competition.
There they will compete in private interview, talent, fitness, onstage question and evening attire. Along with the prestigious state title comes a scholarship package and the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss America’s Teen.
Miss Emerald Ridge Kallie Barker Dallas is a student at Western Carolina. She will compete in the same categories at the teen delegates and a similar prize package, however, the scholarships awarded at this year’s Miss North Carolina competition will be in excess of $100,000. There are numerous scholarships to be awarded, many of which are benefactor scholarships.
Camdyn Williams of Marion, HaLeigh Silvers of Burnsville and Paisley Cowart of Marion will all travel, as well. They have shadowed and made appearances during the year all while contributing and helping disburse items collected during the clothing and hygiene drives.
While the Carolina Princesses do not compete at the state competition, they are featured onstage during the preliminary and finals competitions.
All of the ladies have been preparing since August 2022 when they were crowned at the Miss Emerald Ridge Scholarship Program. Preparations are already underway for this year’s competition in September.
