Imagination Library hits milestone

SPRUCE PINE —The Blue Ridge Partnership for Children recently provided its 200,000th book through the Imagination Library Program. Imagination Library, a program founded by Dolly Parton in 1995, provides children with a free book in the mail from birth until their fifth birthday.
Early childhood education students at Mitchell High School lsiten intently as Ruthie Styles, Community Development Manager for the Blue Ridge Partnership for Children, addresses the class virtually. The students usually go on an annual field trip to the BRPFC, which is located in Burnsville. Students take virtual field trip with BRPFC

LEDGER — Mitchell High School’s early childhood education classes weren’t able to go on their annual field trip to the Blue Ridge Partnership for Children in Burnsville this past August, so BRPFC came to them.  On Monday, Oct.

BRPC gets grant to expand Health Families

The Blue Ridge Partnership for Children, or BRPFC, announced in a press release the receipt of an AMY Wellness Foundation grant. BRPFC applied for the funding to expand the home-visitation Healthy Families program into Avery County.
