CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA— Wade passed away at home in Charlottesville, Virginia after a brief illness surrounded by loved ones. Wade was pre-deceased by his parents Edward A. Davis and Ruth Davis Coleman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Bette; sons Reginald (Elizabeth), Jeffery (Jill); grandchildren, Heather (Ryan), Lori (Russell), James, Josh (Nancy), David, Eric; great-grandchildren, Austin, Hannah, Katie, Ethan, Tyler, Ava, Evie, Olivia, Max, Ryan, Simone. Also, his siblings, Edwina (Ron), James (Mildred), and several nephews and nieces. Wade served his country in the United States Navy. Wade, Bette, and sons moved from North Carolina to Virginia in 1967. He retired after 26 years at NRAO.
He loved baseball and enjoyed 14 years of Spring Training. Per his request, there will be no service. Hill and Wood of Charlottesville, Virginia will be handling the cremation.
A celebration of his life is planned for early July. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont at 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy, Suite 300, Charlottesville, Virginia.
