ESTATOE, N.C.— Ruby Boone Putman, age 84, of D and D Lane in Spruce Pine, the Estatoe community, passed away on Monday, Dec 28, 2020 at her home.
Born on December 21, 1936 in Yancey county, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mae Burleson Boone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill Putman who passed away in 2007. Also preceding her in death were her brothers; Lawrence and Ray Boone and her sisters; Gladys Bartlett and Mildred Presnell.
Ruby was a faithful member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church and had served as the church clerk for thirty-six years. She was retired from Dr. Ken Lentz office after many years of service. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them. She loved cooking for her family and working in her flowers. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Debra Hoyle and husband, Keith of Spruce Pine and Lisa Biddix and husband, Chris of Spruce Pine; her grandchildren; Brandee Burleson and husband, Dylan; Tiffany Veridal and husband, Josh; Dustin Dellinger and Cody Dellinger and wife, Alecia; her great grandchildren; Avee, Bree, Maddox, Lilly, and Eli; her brother; Paul Boone and wife, Emma of Newland; her sister; Margaret Greene and husband, Chuck of Burnsville; her sisters-in-law Flora Ann Boone and Edna Boone and Charles Miller, several nieces and nephews.
