SPRUCE PINE – Edna L. VanCise, 83, of Carters Ridge Road in Spruce Pine, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Mitchell House in Spruce Pine.
Born on September 22, 1937 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Lettie Washburn Hollifield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold VanCise. Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Patsy Greene and her sisters, Pansy Burleson and Rosa Stockton.
Edna originally lived in the Little Switzerland and Turkey Cove communities in McDowell County. She was retired from Baxter Healthcare. She had a green thumb and enjoyed working outside with her flowers. She loved spending time with her family and her dog, CoCo.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Wanda Sprouse of Spruce Pine and her sister; Lois Duncan of Spruce Pine.
