Apply today! FEMA deadline is Monday

HICKORY — North Carolinians with uninsured damage or loss from Tropical Storm Helene have less than a week remaining to apply for FEMA financial assistance. The application deadline is April 7, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

FEMA may be able to help with temporary lodging, basic home repairs, personal property loss or other disaster-caused needs. Homeowners and renters in these Mitchell, Avery, and Yancey counties, as well as other Western North Carolina counties affected by Helene may apply.
