Mitchell County Animal Rescue’s Paws in the Park 2023, presented by Bill and Connie Sales at Crooked Little Flower Studios, is set for Aug. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon at Riverside Park.

Paws in the Park is a family fun day spent at the park with pooches. Attendees can bring their best dog or dogs to the park to gather together with other dog lovers to participate in, or watch, fun contests like smallest dog, largest dog, best trick, dog/owner look-alike and, of course, the doggie pie-eating contest.

Dogs can hang out at the park, splash in the river, chill under a tree and pledge walkers can participate in the Strut your Mutt dog walk. There will be food and entertainment and plenty of opportunities to support MCAR.

No dog of your own? No problem. Anyone is still welcome to the event.

Becoming a Strut your Mutt Pledge walker supports MCAR by collecting donations in-person or online. The top-earning Pledge Walker will receive a T-shirt and all the bragging rights.

Paws in the Park features snacks for humans and pups, music by DJ Bruce Ikard, face painting, dog competitions with prizes, a dog ball pit, a dog-safe pie eating contest and the Strut your Mutt Pledge Walk.

All proceeds help MCAR shelter animals. Call 765-6952 or visit mitchellcountyanimalrescue.org/paws-in-the-park to find out more.
