Parkway Fire and Rescue recently received delivery of its newest fire engine.

It’s the first new engine for the station since 1996. The 2023 KME-built engine cost more than $600,000. Parkway Fire and Rescue held a push-in ceremony, which follows a fire department tradition that dates back to the 1800s.

As part of the tradition, the new engine gets washed before being put away for the first time. Find more photos from the ceremony on the News-Journal Facebook page.
