The Town of Spruce Pine is currently taking applications for the full-time position of Public Works Employee. This position will fall under the supervision of the Public Works Director. Employee will perform unskilled manual tasks using hand tools, such as shovels, weed eater, push mower, and similar equipment; assist in maintenance of pipelines, streets, buildings and grounds. May also perform semi-skilled manual tasks and may operate light equipment, such as lawn tractors, pipe saw, tapping machines, sidearm mower and similar duties in the maintenance and repair of building and grounds, pipelines, streets, etc. Preference will be given to applicants with experience operating machinery.
Beginning salary depends on qualifications. Benefits include Local Government retirement, insurance (health, dental, vision, short-term disability), vacation, and sick leave. Applications will be taken at the Spruce Pine Town Hall, 11050 South 226 Highway, until filled.
