Square dance – A square dance will be every Saturday night in July and August from 8-11 p.m. in the Geneva Hall in Little Switzerland.

 

Fundraiser – A barbecue fundraiser for Jada Daniels is Friday, July 28, at Parkway Fire and Rescue. The event is to offset some medical expenses Daniels is accruing from cancer treatment. There will be a raffle and a silent auction is open online at “Jada’s Journey” on Facebook until 5 p.m. Thursday, July 27. Plates will have barbecue, roll, slaw, beans, drink and dessert for a $10 donation.

 

Singing – The Faithful Hearts Quartet with Mark Robinson will host the 5th Sunday Night Singing at Bear Creek Church at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 30. Everyone is invited.

Substitute teacher training – Mitchell County Schools is offering substitute teacher training from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 8, at the Mitchell County Board of Education in the boardroom. This is a required training session for all substitute teachers prior to substituting during 2017-2018 school year.
