In the spring of 2014, Travise Pitman was named the 10th head coach of Mitchell High School’s football program. Just as his predecessor, Russell Barnett, Pitman is a former Mountaineer.
It could be considered that being a runner in Rick Ferguson’s family is a birthright.
The head coaching tenure of Russell Barnett began in 2007. Barnett became the first head coach for Mountaineer football who had been a former player and assistant coach.
