WRESTLING: Mitchell falls to Swain Co. in 1A Duals
LEDGER – Mitchell High School’s wrestling team lost 43-34 to Swain County this past Tuesday in the Class 1A Dual Team Sectional Championships.

“Our dual team season came to an early end tonight,” Duncan wrote. “Three tough losses over the past week, but I’m proud to have been in the battle with this group of wrestlers. We will learn from our mistakes and be ready to go come regional weekend.”
Mitchell’s Garrett Buchanan (182 pounds) opened the match against Swain with a win. After Swain earned two-straight wins, Hudson Boone (285 pounds) stopped the bleeding by earning a win by fall.
Dakota Tehandon (106 pounds) and Dylan Lowery (113 pounds) followed with wins of their own for the Mountaineers, but the team lost four of its next five bouts.
