Volleyball team falls 3-1 at Hibriten
LEDGER – Mitchell High School’s varsity volleyball team suffered its fourth-straight loss Thursday, Sept. 12, after being edged 3-1 on the road at Hibriten.
The Mountaineers (3-6) started the season with a 3-1 win at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy. After a pair of losses to Draughn and Ashe County, the team got back on track with back-to-back victories to close out August.
Mitchell was back in action Monday, Sept. 16, against East Wilkes. Results of that match were not available at press time.
The Mountaineers open their Western Highlands Conference schedule Tuesday, Sept. 17, with back-to-back home games against Owen and Mountain Heritage and then begin a three-game road swing with stops at Madison, Polk and East Wilkes.
