Middle school falls to Table Rock 32-18

LEDGER – The Mitchell Middle School Mountaineers lost 32-18 to visiting Table Rock Tuesday, Sept. 10, in Ledger.

Quarterback Chase Duncan accounted for most of Mitchell’s offense in the game, going 3-for-9 passing for 61 yards and rushing for 66 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Running backs Austin Styles and Marley McCourry had 29 and 28 yards, respectively, on four carries each and running back Rylan Cooper added 11 yards on the ground. Receiver Cole Young caught two passes for 33 yards and Jace Blanton hauled in one catch for 28 yards.

Young paced the Mountaineer defense, recording seven tackles (two for a loss), while M.J. Ledford had five tackles, Duncan had three, Cameron Cook two and Luke Yelton recovered a fumble.

The Middle School Mountaineers hosted T.A. Dugger Monday, Sept. 16, on eighth-grade night at Mitchell. Results were not available at press time. The Middle School Mountaineers play next at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Cane River.
