Dellinger named head JV football coach at MHS
LEDGER – Josh Dellinger has been officially named the new junior varsity head football coach at Mitchell High School.
He replaces Isaac Edwards, who served as the JV head coach for the past two seasons and has taken a job with a local mining company.
Dellinger, a native of Spruce Pine, is a 1995 graduate of Mitchell High School, where he earned a varsity letter in football and baseball. He is also a graduate of Appalachian State University. Dellinger currently works as a science teacher at Mitchell High School, where he has been an assistant football coach since 2012. During his coaching tenure, Dellinger has coached wide receivers and defensive backs. Most recently, he has served as the defensive coordinator for the JV football team.
Dellinger and his wife, Jennifer, live in Spruce Pine with their three children, Jackson, Jace and Jordan.
