William Omar “W.O.” Butler, 92, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019. W.O. was the beloved husband of Anna Rudkin Butler and devoted son of the late Allen and Ida Butler.
He is survived by his sister, Bernice Butler Bishop; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. W.O. was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a Mason, Shriner, member of the rod and gun club, and a car enthusiast. He was also a member of the Gary United Memorial Methodist Church of Columbia, Maryland.
A graveside service took place Saturday, June 22, 2019, at the Russ Memorial Cemetery in Bakersville with Military Honors performed by the Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter 57 DAV. Instead of flowers, a contribution to the Shriners would be appreciated.
